Public Comments: The Banner County Board of Commissioners will receive public comments on items discussed at this meeting, or suggestions for items of discussion at a future Banner County Board of Commissioners meeting. The Board will not act and/or respond to comments presented on this date. Please keep comments limited to three minutes.
  10. Re-organization Board of Commissioners:
    • Appoint 2026 Board Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson
    • Set regular Board of Commissioners meeting date/time
    • Designate official county newspaper(s) for notifications (Currently Western Nebraska Observer and Star Herald)
    • Set Method of reasonable advance notice of meetings
    • Discuss and approve 2026 County Holiday schedule (See attached 2026 holidays)
  11. Other Business:
    • 2026 Cost of Living Increase for Elected Officials - Commissioners
    • Approval to surplus belly dump on purple way auction – Eric McCoy
  12. Consider and Appoint 2026 Officials:
    • Resolution 26-09: County Highway Superintendent                Eric McCoy
    • Resolution 26-07: Appoint County Weed Superintendent    Tim Grubbs
  13. Discuss and consider any action to approve and authorize signature(s) on applications and bank depositories:
    • Resolution 26-01: Appoint depository bank and invest funds
    • Resolution 26-02: Insufficient funds/Set interest rate on registered warrants (currently .5%)
    • Resolution 26-03: Authorize Banner County Treasurer, Kathy Natale, to invest county funds and Excess funds
    • Resolution 26-04: Authorize petty cash fund (Currently $500.00)
    • Resolution 26-05: Authorize Banner County Clerk, Katie West, Banner County Sheriff, Kenneth Zane Hopkins, Banner County Commissioner Chairperson, and Banner County Commissioner Vice-Chairperson signatory approval and access to Banner County accounts at designated bank
    • Credit Card Authorization and set guidelines for credit card use
    • Set Official/Employee travel expenses protocols
    • Resolution 26-06: Set indigent burial costs limit (currently $1,500.00)
