Banner County Board of Equalization Proceedings
The Banner County Board of Equalization met in regular session, in the courtroom of the Banner County Courthouse on September 17, 2024. This is with accordance with the adjournment of the September 3, 2024, meeting and published in the Western Nebraska Observer, posting notices in Harrisburg, Nebraska at the Post Office, Banner County School, Clerk’s Office, and the front window of the Banner County Courthouse. Proof of publication is on file of the County Clerk and made part of the proceedings by reference.
The agenda for the meeting is kept current and is available during the regular business hours at the office of the County Clerk. A copy was emailed to each Board member on September 16, 2024.
Chairperson Darnall called the meeting to order at 8:31 A.M. on September 17, 2024. Katie West, County Clerk, did roll call. Roll call: Don Lease II, present; Robin Darnall, present; and Laif Anderson, present. Chairperson Darnall stated the Nebraska Open Meeting Act is posted by the back door of the courtroom.
The consent agenda items were examined. Anderson moved to accept the consent agenda. Lease seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Lease, yes; Darnall, yes; Anderson, yes. Motion carried.
Items of Business before the Board:
- Tax List Correction – Kacy Krakow – Krakow said she is waiting to hear from the state to answer some questions to make sure this is done correctly. Lease moved to table the tax list correction to October 1, 2024. Anderson seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Lease, yes; Darnall, yes; Anderson, yes. Motion carried.
- Clerical Error Report – Kacy Krakow – Anderson moved to table the clerical error report to October 1, 2024. Lease seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Lease, yes; Darnall, yes; Anderson, yes. Motion carried. Darnall asked Krakow how the valuation is calculated. Krakow replied that the Ag land is the average of the last three years.
Public Comment: None
Lease moved to adjourn the meeting. Anderson seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Lease, yes; Darnall, yes; Anderson, yes. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:34 A.M.
